Software engineer, Synclavier Digital Synthesizer
- developed and maintained sound acquisition, analysis, and editing software package
- developed analysis and resynthesis tools for Synclavier wavetable synthesizer
- integrated MIDI compatibility support into Synclavier
- co-developed new digital music sequencer architecture
- designed & developed Synclavier screen-based user interface displays

Engineering manager
- oversaw development of new editing interfaces for digital audio workstation products

 

1991-present: Apple Computer, Inc.

Software engineer in Sound group in Apple System Software division
- developed Speech Manager toolbox enabling Mac applications to control speech synthesizers
- developed front-end parser for MacinTalk text-to-speech synthesis engine

Engineering Manager for Speech synthesis team
- managed overall speech synthesis development efforts

Program Manager for Apple's Speech Synthesis and Recognition program
- managed overall research and development activities for both speech synthesis and automatic speech recognition projects

Engineering Manager, QuickTime team
- managed day to day engineering of QuickTime software releases

Director of Engineering, QuickTime and Media Tools
- responsible for overall engineering management of QuickTime product on all platforms (Macintosh, Windows, Unix, OS/2, etc)
- responsible for directing media tools product development efforts (including HyperCard, Apple Media Tool, and AppleScript)
